Sunflowers
I planted a couple of dozen sunflowers in the yard this Spring. The seeds that the chipmunks didn't dig up, or the seedlings the groundhog didn't eat, grew into ten foot behemoths. So for much of the summer and now into the fall these wonderful flowers have been feeding a great assortment of bees and birds, especially the finches. Now I have these specimens resting on an old tin ceiling tile.
